Possible Causes
Loose connector between main PCB and motor module, Damaged communication cable, Failed motor control module, Faulty main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before accessing internal electronics.
- Inspect module connectors: Locate the communication harness between the main PCB and any separate motor or traction modules. Reseat all multi‑pin connectors.
- Check harness integrity: Look for pinched, abraded, or cut communication cables. Replace the harness if any conductors are damaged.
- Module isolation: If possible, disconnect one module at a time (e.g. traction, brush) and see if E12 changes. This can help identify which module is pulling down the bus.
- Replace suspect module: If a specific motor control module is identified as faulty, replace it with the correct Nilfisk spare. If no module is clearly at fault, the main PCB may need replacement.
