Possible Causes
Grind too fine, Excessive coffee dose, Brew temperature too high, Dirty brew group or coffee path
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the machine to cool before cleaning.
- Adjust grind coarser: While the grinder is running, move the grind selector one step coarser.
- Reduce strength: Lower the aroma/strength setting to reduce the coffee dose per shot.
- Use appropriate beans: Very dark roasts can taste burnt in automatic machines. Try a medium roast.
- Clean brew path: Run a cleaning cycle with coffee oil tablets and clean the brew group thoroughly to remove rancid oils that can affect taste.
If taste issues persist, the temperature control may be off and require calibration or sensor replacement by a technician.
