Over-Smoking / Poor Smoke Ventilation
Smoker produces too much thick, bitter smoke that makes food taste acrid.

Possible Causes
Vent too closed, Bisquettes burning incompletely due to low burner temperature, Excessive bisquette feed rate, Very long smoke time without venting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure adequate ventilation in the area where the smoker is used to avoid inhaling concentrated smoke.
Steps to improve smoke quality:
- Open vent: Open the top vent more to allow stale smoke to escape and fresh air to enter.
- Limit smoke time: Use smoke for the recommended duration, then continue cooking with heat only if needed.
- Check burner temperature: Ensure the bisquette burner is hot enough to burn pucks cleanly. Clean the burner plate and verify power to the burner element.
- Avoid stacking bisquettes: Confirm that only one bisquette at a time is on the burner plate and that spent pucks are dropping into the water bowl properly.
