Possible Causes
Clogged drain hole or drip channel, Missing or misaligned drip pan, Excessive grease buildup inside cabinet, Smoker not level
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the smoker to cool before cleaning. Grease can be extremely hot and flammable.
Steps:
- Verify the smoker is level front‑to‑back and side‑to‑side. Adjust legs or place shims under the feet as needed.
- Remove and clean the drip pan. Ensure it is properly seated under the drain outlet.
- Locate the internal drain hole or channel at the bottom of the cabinet. Clear any clogs with a pipe cleaner or small brush.
- Scrape heavy grease from the interior walls and floor into a disposable container. Do not allow thick layers to accumulate.
- Check the door gasket for gaps that may allow grease to escape; replace if necessary.
Warning: Never operate the smoker with a missing drip pan; hot grease can drip onto surfaces and create a fire hazard.
