Possible Causes

Faulty PWM generation on control board, Noise or distortion on pilot line, Incorrect configuration of maximum current in Enphase app, Vehicle requesting unsupported current level

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: This is typically a control/communication issue rather than a shock hazard, but always follow standard precautions.

  • Check app settings: Open the Enphase app and verify the maximum charging current is set within the charger and circuit rating. Avoid setting values higher than the breaker rating.
  • Power cycle: Turn OFF the breaker for 2 minutes, then ON. This resets the PWM generator on the control board.
  • Try another vehicle (if available): If E110 only occurs with one vehicle, the vehicle's onboard charger may be misinterpreting the pilot signal. Check for vehicle firmware updates.
  • Inspect cable for interference: Avoid running the EV cable parallel and tightly bundled with high-current conductors or large motors that can induce noise.
  • If persistent: The control board's pilot PWM circuit may be defective. A technician can scope the pilot signal and replace the board if needed.
