How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Overcurrent events can cause severe damage and fire. Do not repeatedly reset without identifying the cause.
- 1. Inspect cable and plug:
- Look for melted plastic, burn marks, or deformed pins on the Type 2 connector.
- Check the cable for cuts or crushed sections.
- 2. Try another vehicle:
- Connect the NRGkick to a different EV on a known-good outlet.
- If E20 only occurs with one vehicle, the fault is likely in that vehicle.
- 3. Reduce current limit:
- Set a lower current in the app and attempt a short test charge.
- If E20 still triggers immediately, a hard short may exist.
- 4. Do not continue if physical damage is visible:
- Replace the cable assembly if any conductor damage is suspected.
- 5. If no external cause is found:
- The internal current limiting or power electronics may be faulty.
- Contact NRGkick support for internal diagnostics and repair.
