Foaming / Overfilled Pot
Water or starchy liquid spurts out of the steam release valve during pressure cooking.

Possible Causes
Pot filled above maximum line, Cooking foamy foods (pasta, beans) without enough oil or water, Clogged anti-block shield or steam cap, Worn sealing ring allowing unstable boiling
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of the steam vent. Turn off and unplug the cooker if liquid is spraying continuously.
- Release pressure safely: Allow pressure to drop naturally if possible. Once safe, open the lid.
- Reduce fill level: For pressure cooking, do not exceed 2/3 full, and only 1/2 full for foods that expand or foam.
- Use oil and proper liquid: Add a spoonful of oil to foamy foods and ensure you meet the minimum liquid requirement.
- Clean anti-block shield: Remove and wash any metal or plastic shield above the steam release area to clear starch buildup.
- Inspect sealing ring: Replace if worn to improve pressure stability.
