Water or foam spurts out of the steam release valve excessively during pressure cooking.

Possible Causes

Overfilled inner pot, Starchy foods (rice, beans) without enough oil or anti-foam space, Clogged anti-block shield, Incorrect pressure setting

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Keep face and hands away from the valve. Use a long utensil to adjust the valve if needed.

  • Stop the program: Cancel cooking and allow pressure to drop naturally or via controlled venting as per Bosch instructions.
  • Reduce fill level: For foamy foods, do not exceed the recommended maximum fill line (often 1/2 or 2/3 of pot).
  • Add oil: Add a small amount of cooking oil to starchy foods to reduce foaming.
  • Clean anti-block shield: Remove and clean the shield and valve thoroughly before the next use.
