How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool fully. Do not touch internal metal parts while hot.

  • Clean heating plate: Remove the inner pot and wipe the heating plate and center sensor disc with a soft, dry cloth. Remove any burnt food or residue that may trap heat.
  • Check for spills: If soup or starchy water has overflowed, carefully clean around the sensor and inner walls. Let the cooker air-dry for several hours before use.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the cooker is used on a hard, flat surface with at least several centimeters of clearance around it so heat can dissipate properly.
  • Test with empty pot: Place the clean, dry inner pot in the cooker (do not add food), close the lid, and run a short program like REHEAT for a few minutes. If E2 appears immediately, the sensor or control board is likely defective.
  • Service recommendation: Persistent E2 usually indicates a failed NTC sensor or control PCB. Replacement requires opening the base and working near mains wiring; contact an authorized Brock service center.
