Possible Causes
Food stuck to bottom of pot, Very thick sauce or starch at bottom, Insufficient liquid, Inner pot not seated properly on heating plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Cancel the program. If under pressure, allow pressure to release naturally or via quick release as appropriate.
- 1. Stir and deglaze: Once safe to open, stir the contents thoroughly. Scrape the bottom with a wooden spoon to release any stuck food. Add more liquid if mixture is thick.
- 2. Clean inner pot: If food is heavily burnt, transfer salvageable food, soak the pot, and scrub clean. Do not continue cooking with burnt residue on the bottom.
- 3. Adjust recipe layering: Place thin liquids at the bottom and thicker sauces or tomato products on top. Avoid stirring after layering before pressure cooking.
- 4. Check pot seating: Ensure the inner pot is fully seated and flat on the heating plate.
- 5. Test with water: If 'OvHt' appears even with plain water, the temperature sensor or control board may be faulty and require professional service.
