Possible Causes
Insufficient liquid, Thick sauces on high heat, Starch buildup on heating plate, Faulty temperature regulation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the cooker if you smell burning.
- Stop cooking: Cancel the program and allow pressure to release according to the manual.
- Soak inner pot: Remove the pot and soak it in warm soapy water to loosen burnt food. Do not use metal tools that can scratch the non-stick coating.
- Clean heating plate: Once cool, gently clean the heating plate surface to remove any residue that could cause hot spots.
- Adjust recipes: Add more liquid, avoid thickening agents until after pressure cooking, and use lower sauté settings for delicate sauces.
- When to replace: If scorching occurs even with adequate liquid and correct use, the temperature sensor or control PCB may be misregulating heat and should be inspected by a technician.
