Possible Causes

Blocked steam release valve, Stuck float valve, Excessive food or liquid above MAX line, Faulty pressure sensor calibration

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: If E5 appears during cooking, unplug the unit and allow it to cool. Carefully release pressure using the steam release valve, keeping hands and face away from steam.

  • Check fill level: Ensure food and liquid are below the MAX mark in the inner pot. Overfilling can cause excessive pressure and foaming.
  • Inspect steam release valve: Remove the steam release knob or cap from the lid. Clean it thoroughly, ensuring the vent path is clear. Use a small brush or toothpick to remove dried food.
  • Clean float valve and anti-block shield: Remove the anti-block shield and clean the area. Make sure the float valve pin moves freely and the silicone seal is intact.
  • Run a water test: Reassemble and cook with only water to see if E5 reoccurs. If it works with water but not with certain foods, reduce quantity and avoid thick sauces.
  • Sensor check: If E5 persists even with correct fill and clean valves, the pressure sensor may be misreading. Inspect and reseat the pressure sensor connector; replace the sensor if necessary.

Do not attempt to bypass safety valves or seals. Persistent E5 with correct usage warrants sensor or control board inspection.
