Possible Causes
Cooking with empty or nearly empty pot, Thick burnt layer on inner pot bottom, Faulty bottom NTC reading too high, Poor contact between pot and heating plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and allow the cooker to cool. Do not add cold water to a very hot empty pot.
- Check cooking method: Ensure you always add oil or water before using high-heat modes. Avoid preheating an empty pot for long periods.
- Clean inner pot: Remove any burnt-on food from the inner pot bottom. A warped or heavily scratched pot should be replaced.
- Inspect heating plate: Wipe the plate clean and check for dents that prevent full contact with the pot.
- Sensor check (advanced): Test the bottom NTC sensor resistance at room temperature. If it reads abnormally low (indicating high temperature), replace the sensor.
- Re-test with proper load: Add sufficient liquid and retry. If E17 recurs quickly, sensor or control logic may be faulty.
