Possible Causes
Insufficient liquid, Thick starchy foods sticking to bottom, High sauté temperature for too long, Faulty temperature regulation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If smoke is visible, unplug the cooker immediately and carefully move it to a safe, ventilated area. Do not open under a range hood with the fan off.
- Release pressure safely: If under pressure, allow natural release or carefully vent steam according to the manual.
- Clean pot and plate: Remove burnt food from the inner pot. Soak and scrub thoroughly. Wipe the heating plate clean once cool.
- Adjust cooking method: Use more liquid, stir frequently in sauté mode, and avoid leaving thick sauces unattended.
- Sensor check: If burning occurs even with adequate liquid, inspect the bottom NTC sensor and control board for faults causing overheating.
