Possible Causes
Insufficient liquid for selected program, Thick sauces or sugary marinades sticking to bottom, Faulty temperature regulation causing overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Press Cancel, unplug the cooker, and allow it to depressurize naturally. Do not open the lid under pressure.
- Check recipe and liquid: Ensure you are using enough liquid for pressure cooking (typically at least 250 ml unless Tower specifies otherwise). Avoid thick sauces on the bottom; layer liquids first.
- Clean inner pot and plate: After cooling, remove the inner pot and soak to loosen burnt food. Clean the heating plate gently with a damp cloth; do not scratch the surface.
- Use appropriate mode: Use sauté only for browning and switch to pressure mode with added liquid for longer cooking.
- Monitor next cook: Run a test with water only to ensure the cooker heats normally without smoke or smell. If overheating occurs even with water, the thermostat or sensor may be faulty.
Persistent burning with correct recipes may indicate a sensor or control fault and should be checked by a technician.
