Possible Causes
Food burned onto heating plate area causing hot spots, Blocked air vents in base, Failed thermal cutoff or thermostat stuck open, Inner pot not seated correctly causing poor heat transfer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker and allow it to cool completely. Do not attempt to reset while hot.
- Check ventilation: Ensure the cooker is on a hard, flat surface with at least several inches of clearance around all sides. Clear any obstructions from the bottom and side vents.
- Clean the heating plate: Remove the inner pot and inspect the heating plate for burned-on food or oil. Gently clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid scratching the surface.
- Inspect the inner pot: Make sure the bottom of the Wolf Gourmet stainless-steel inner pot is flat and clean. Warped or dented pots can cause uneven heating and trigger overtemperature errors.
- Reset attempt: After cleaning and ensuring proper airflow, plug the unit back in and run a low-temperature program with at least 2 cups of water. If E3 does not return, resume normal use.
- Persistent E3: If E3 appears quickly even with water only, the thermal cutoff or thermostat on the heating plate assembly may be faulty. This requires disassembly of the heating assembly and should be handled by a professional technician.
