Possible Causes

Overfilled pot, High-starch foods foaming (beans, pasta, oatmeal), Rapid pressure release with thick contents, Blocked anti-foam shield

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Keep hands, face, and body away from the steam release. Use a long utensil to operate the valve.

  • Use natural release: For foamy foods, allow pressure to drop naturally for 10–15 minutes before opening the valve.
  • Reduce fill level: Do not fill above half full when cooking beans, grains, or foamy foods.
  • Clean anti-block shield: Remove and clean the anti-block shield and steam outlet in the lid.
  • Stir and add oil: Before cooking, stir in a small amount of oil to reduce foaming.
