Oven produces excessive smoke during normal baking (not self-clean).

Possible Causes
Grease or food spills on bottom panel, foil on elements, dirty convection fan area, high sugar/fat content foods at high temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If smoke is heavy, turn off the oven and open windows. Avoid opening the door fully if flames are present.
- Inspect interior: Once cool, remove racks and check the bottom, sides, and door for heavy grease or burnt-on food.
- Clean thoroughly: Use an LG-approved oven cleaner or a baking soda paste to clean residue. Avoid spraying cleaner directly on elements or the temperature sensor.
- Check for foil: Remove any aluminum foil covering the bottom or elements; this can trap grease and cause smoke.
- Run a short high-heat burn-off: After cleaning, run the oven empty at 400–450°F for 15–20 minutes to burn off remaining residue (ventilate the area).
Note: Persistent smoke after cleaning may indicate a hidden spill under the bottom panel; remove and clean if accessible.
