Possible Causes
Failed or weak convection fan, One heating element not operating, Incorrect rack position, Warped oven racks or cavity walls
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the oven to cool before adjusting racks or inspecting internal components.
- Use correct rack position: Follow Summit’s cooking guide for rack placement. Middle rack is usually best for even baking.
- Check elements: Verify that both bake and broil elements heat during preheat. Replace any failed bake or broil element.
- Convection mode: For more even results, use convection bake if your Summit oven is equipped. If convection fan does not run, test and replace the convection fan motor.
- Rotate pans: For stubborn unevenness, rotate baking pans halfway through cooking.
If uneven cooking persists despite these steps, the oven may require professional calibration or inspection for insulation issues.
