Possible Causes

Factory oils and coatings not fully burned off, High temperature used without prior seasoning, Residual packaging material left inside

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Operate the initial burn‑in outdoors with good ventilation and no food inside.

  • Step 1 – Remove all packaging: Ensure all plastic, cardboard, and manuals are removed from inside the grill.
  • Step 2 – Clean grates and interior: Wipe grates and interior surfaces with a damp cloth.
  • Step 3 – Perform burn‑in: Run the grill empty at 350–400°F for 45–60 minutes to burn off manufacturing residues.
  • Step 4 – Recheck smell: If strong odors persist after several burn‑ins, inspect for melted plastic near wiring or components and replace any damaged parts.
