Possible Causes

Protective oils on metal surfaces, Residual paint curing, Packaging materials left inside cook chamber

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Perform burn-in with no food on the grill and with good ventilation.

  • Remove all packaging: Ensure all plastic, cardboard, and manuals are removed from inside the grill.
  • Clean surfaces: Wipe interior surfaces and grates with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then rinse and dry.
  • Burn-in cycle: Run the grill at a medium-high temperature (e.g., 200–230°C) for 45–60 minutes with the lid closed to burn off oils.

If strong odors persist after several burn-in cycles, inspect for any non-heat-resistant materials accidentally left near the fire pot or exhaust.
