Possible Causes

Excessive grease buildup on drip tray, Cooking fatty meats at very high temperatures, Holes or damage in heat diffuser, Drip tray foil blocking grease flow

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Immediate safety: If a grease fire occurs, close the lid, turn the grill OFF, and unplug it. Do NOT open the lid until flames subside. Never use water on a grease fire.

  • After cooling: Remove grates and drip tray. Scrape off all grease and carbon buildup.
  • Inspect diffuser and tray: Check the Enders heat diffuser and drip tray for holes, warping, or damage that allows direct flame exposure. Replace if necessary.
  • Use proper foil: If lining the drip tray with foil, ensure it does not block grease channels or the drain.
  • Adjust cooking method: For very fatty foods, cook at lower temperatures or use pans to catch drippings.
