Possible Causes

Wet or poor-quality pellets, Combustion fan weak or partially blocked, Fire pot partially clogged with ash, RTD probe reading high, Leaking lid or body seams

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Allow the grill to cool before deep cleaning.

  • 1. Fuel quality:
    • Empty hopper and discard any damp or crumbly pellets.
    • Refill with fresh, high-quality hardwood pellets.
  • 2. Clean fire pot and barrel:
    • Vacuum ash from fire pot and bottom of cook chamber.
    • Ensure all air holes in the fire pot are open.
  • 3. Check combustion fan:
    • Inspect fan blades for dust buildup and clean.
    • Verify the fan runs at full speed during operation.
  • 4. Inspect lid and body:
    • Look for gaps around the lid and seams.
    • Replace or add lid gasket if heat is visibly escaping.
  • 5. Verify temperature probe:
    • Compare displayed temperature with a separate thermometer.
    • If the display reads higher than actual, replace the RTD sensor.
