Possible Causes
Restricted airflow from dirty firepot, Weak or failing combustion fan, Wet or low‑quality pellets, Overfilled firepot from excessive pellet feed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the grill to cool before cleaning. Avoid breathing heavy smoke directly.
- Step 1 – Clean firepot thoroughly: Remove grates and drip tray. Vacuum all ash and pellets from the firepot and burn area.
- Step 2 – Check fan operation: Confirm the combustion fan runs continuously during cooking and provides strong airflow.
- Step 3 – Use dry, quality pellets: Discard any damp or crumbly pellets and refill with a high‑quality brand.
- Step 4 – Avoid overloading: Do not manually add pellets to the firepot. Let the auger control feed rate.
- Step 5 – Service fan or controller: If smoke remains thick and white despite cleaning and good pellets, the fan or control board may not be providing adequate air and should be inspected and replaced if necessary.
