Possible Causes
Drip tray heavily coated with grease, Foil or liners blocking grease flow, Cooking very fatty meats at high temperature, Grease drain blocked
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: In case of a grease fire, do not open the lid fully or use water. Turn off the grill, unplug it, and keep the lid closed until the fire suffocates. Have a Class B fire extinguisher nearby.
- After cool-down, clean thoroughly: Remove grates and drip tray. Scrape and remove all grease from the drip tray, heat diffuser, and interior surfaces.
- Clear grease drain: Ensure the grease channel and drain tube are open and flowing freely to the bucket.
- Use liners correctly: If using foil or drip tray liners, make sure they do not block grease flow paths.
- Adjust cooking method: For very fatty cuts, cook at lower temperatures and trim excess fat to reduce dripping.
