Possible Causes
Dirty RTD probe, Poor pellet quality, Wind or ambient temperature extremes, Control board PID tuning not optimal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the grill to cool before touching the temperature probe.
- Clean RTD probe: Gently scrub the RTD sensor with fine steel wool or a non-abrasive pad to remove soot and grease.
- Use consistent pellets: Stick to one brand and type of high-quality pellets to reduce variability.
- Shield from wind: Move the grill to a more sheltered location or use a windbreak.
- Preheat longer: Allow extra preheat time so the controller can stabilize before adding food.
- Controller calibration: If your Rösle controller allows, adjust temperature offset or stability settings per the manual.
