How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: This is a serious hazard. Do not use water on a grease fire.

  • 1. Immediate response:
    • Turn the grill OFF and unplug it.
    • Keep the lid closed to starve the fire of oxygen.
    • If flames escape the grill, use a Class B fire extinguisher.
  • 2. After fire is out and grill is cool:
    • Remove grates, drip tray, and heat baffle.
    • Scrape all grease and char from the drip tray and barrel.
    • Vacuum ash and debris from the firepot and bottom of grill.
  • 3. Inspect components:
    • Check wiring, RTD, and paint for heat damage.
    • Replace any melted or burned parts.
  • 4. Prevent future fires:
    • Clean the drip tray regularly, especially after cooking fatty foods.
