Yoder Smokers
Insufficient Combustion or Airflow Restriction
Grill struggles to reach high temperatures (e.g., above 400°F) even with lid closed

Possible Causes
Dirty firepot restricting air, Weak combustion fan, Exhaust stack or vents partially blocked, Excessive ash buildup in cook chamber
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the grill is cool and unplugged before cleaning internal components.
- Clean firepot thoroughly: Remove all ash and clinkers from the firepot and surrounding area. Ensure all air holes are open.
- Inspect combustion fan: Check the fan blades for grease and dust buildup. Clean carefully and verify the fan spins freely.
- Check exhaust path: Inspect the chimney and any exhaust ports for soot or grease buildup. Clean to restore full airflow.
- Remove chamber ash: Vacuum ash from the bottom of the cook chamber and around the diffuser plate.
- Test at high setting: After cleaning, run the grill at its highest setting and monitor temperature. If it still cannot reach target, the fan may be weak and require replacement.
