Possible Causes
Faulty perimeter sensor coil in mower, Damaged sensor cable from coil to PCB, Interference from nearby power cables, Defective loop receiver circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the mower and unplug the charging station before working near the boundary wire.
- Check boundary signal: Confirm that the charging station LED indicates a healthy loop. Repair any boundary wire issues first.
- Reduce interference: Ensure the boundary wire is not laid parallel and close to mains cables, metal fences, or other robotic mower wires.
- Inspect sensor coil: On the mower, locate the perimeter sensor coil (usually at the front). Check that it is firmly mounted and not cracked or broken.
- Check wiring: Follow the cable from the coil to the main PCB. Look for cuts, abrasions, or loose connectors. Reseat the plug.
- Test with another mower (if available): If another AL-KO mower works correctly on the same installation, the original mower's loop sensor or PCB is likely faulty and should be replaced.
