Possible Causes

Lift sensor out of calibration, Loose mounting screws, Internal sensor failure, Damaged wiring harness to safety board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Always turn off the main switch before lifting the mower. Never bypass lift safety functions.

  • Reset mower: Place the mower on a flat surface, turn it off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Some models auto-calibrate the lift sensor at startup.
  • Check mounting: Remove the top cover and locate the lift sensor module. Tighten any loose screws and ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the chassis.
  • Inspect harness: Follow the cable from the lift sensor to the safety or main PCB. Check for pinched or broken wires and reseat the connector.
  • Software reset: If your AL-KO model supports it, perform a factory reset from the menu (note: this may erase schedules). Then test again.
  • Replace sensor: If E13 persists despite correct mounting and wiring, replace the lift sensor module with an original AL-KO part.
