Possible Causes
Front bumper stuck, Bumper microswitch damaged, Bumper sensor wiring harness loose, Main board bumper input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the main switch and remove the robot from the lawn before inspection.
- Check for physical obstruction: Inspect the front bumper area for branches, stones, or compacted grass that may be jamming the bumper. Clean thoroughly.
- Test bumper movement: Gently press the bumper in and release. It should move freely and return to its original position. If it feels stiff or stuck, remove debris from the sides and underneath.
- Inspect bumper switches: On many Ambrogio models, there are microswitches or contact sensors behind the bumper. Remove the front cover (screws underneath) and verify that the switches click when the bumper is pressed. Check that the wiring harness is firmly connected to the main board.
- Reset the robot: After cleaning and checking connections, power the robot ON and clear the error by following the user interface prompts (often pressing START/OK).
- If E002 persists: The bumper microswitch assembly or the main control board bumper input may be defective and require replacement.
