Possible Causes
Lift sensor stuck in triggered position, Lift sensor magnet misaligned, Broken lift sensor wiring, Faulty lift sensor on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF the robot and remove it from the charging station.
- Place robot on level ground: Ensure the robot is sitting flat on all wheels. Some Ambrogio models will show a lift error if the chassis is twisted or one wheel is hanging.
- Check lift sensor area: The lift sensor is often located near the front or center chassis, using a reed switch and magnet or a tilt sensor. Inspect the underside for any damage or missing magnets.
- Clean underside: Remove grass buildup around the sensor area and chassis supports. Packed grass can hold the chassis in a lifted position.
- Inspect wiring: If accessible, open the top cover and trace the lift sensor cable to the main board. Ensure connectors are fully seated and wires are not cut or corroded.
- Reboot: Turn the robot back ON and clear the error. If E003 remains, the lift sensor or main board input likely needs replacement.
Warning: Never bypass lift or tilt sensors; they are critical safety devices.
