Possible Causes

Broken perimeter wire, Poor connection at boundary wire terminals, Faulty boundary transmitter in charging station, Interference from nearby cables or fences

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and remove it from the lawn before working on the boundary wire or charging station.

  • Check charging station LEDs: Refer to the Cedrus manual to confirm that the station indicates a healthy loop signal. A flashing or red LED often means a loop break.
  • Inspect boundary wire connections: At the charging base, remove the wire ends from the terminals. Trim 1 cm of insulation and reinsert firmly to ensure a clean copper contact.
  • Walk the perimeter: Follow the boundary wire around the lawn, looking for cuts, chew marks, or places where garden tools may have damaged it. Repair breaks using Cedrus waterproof splice connectors.
  • Reduce interference: Keep the boundary wire at least the minimum distance from metal fences, buried power cables, or irrigation pipes as specified in the manual.
  • Test after repair: Once the loop LED shows normal operation, place the mower in the station and start a cycle. If E04 persists, the boundary sensor in the mower or the station transmitter may require professional replacement.
