Possible Causes
Obstructed infrared or magnetic home sensor, Misaligned charging station, Damaged home sensor on mower, Reflective surfaces confusing sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and unplug the charging station before moving it.
- Clean sensors: Wipe the front sensor window on the mower and any corresponding sensor area on the base with a soft, dry cloth.
- Check base placement: Ensure the base is on a flat, firm surface with the recommended straight approach distance as per Cub Cadet manual. Avoid corners, slopes, or tight spaces.
- Remove obstacles: Clear leaves, toys, and tall grass from the docking path. Avoid shiny metal or glass surfaces directly in front of the base.
- Test manual docking: Place the mower about 1–2 m in front of the base and start a return‑to‑home command. Observe if it veers off or stops early.
- Inspect sensor (advanced): If the mower consistently fails to detect the base, the home sensor module or its wiring may be defective and require replacement.
