Possible Causes
Grass or debris jammed behind front bumper, Bumper microswitch or sensor strip damaged, Bumper return springs dislodged, Bumper sensor cable disconnected
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and place it on a stable surface before working near the bumper.
- Check bumper movement: Press the front bumper at several points. It should move freely and spring back. If it feels stuck, inspect for trapped debris.
- Clean bumper area: Remove grass clumps, twigs, or stones from the gap between the bumper and chassis.
- Inspect springs and mounts: If accessible, verify that the bumper springs are attached and not bent or broken.
- Check sensor wiring: Remove the top cover and trace the bumper sensor cable to the mainboard. Ensure the connector is fully seated.
- Test operation: Power ON the mower and gently press the bumper while in test mode (if available) to see if the system registers collisions.
If E12 persists and the bumper does not register presses, replace the bumper sensor assembly or microswitch strip.
