Ecovacs Poor Coverage / Navigation Inefficiency

Robot lawnmower leaves uncut strips of grass and misses areas within the boundary.

Possible Causes

Boundary wire layout not optimized, Guide wire not installed or misrouted, IMU or compass drift, Cutting width reduced due to missing blades

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the mower before adjusting boundary or guide wires.

  • Review boundary layout: Ensure the wire follows Ecovacs guidelines, with correct distances from edges and obstacles.
  • Install or correct guide wire: If your model supports a guide wire, route it from the station through narrow passages to remote areas.
  • Check blades: Confirm all blades are present and sharp to maintain full cutting width.
  • Run calibration: Perform any available navigation or compass calibration via the app.

Persistent missed areas may require adjusting the mowing schedule (longer or more frequent runs) or relocating the charging station for better coverage.
