Possible Causes
Defective lift sensor switch, Broken lift sensor wiring, Misaligned sensor actuator, Contaminated sensor mechanism with dirt
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Never lift the mower while the blades are running. Turn OFF the main switch before inspection.
- Check for dirt: Inspect the area where the lift sensor is located (often near the front or handle) and remove any dirt or grass that could block movement.
- Operate sensor (if accessible): Gently move the part of the housing that actuates the lift sensor and listen for a click. Lack of movement may indicate a mechanical issue.
- Reboot: Turn the mower ON and test on flat ground. If E19 appears without lifting, the sensor or wiring is likely faulty.
- Repair: Replacement of the lift sensor assembly or repair of its wiring is usually required and may involve opening the housing.
