How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the mower OFF with the main power switch and remove the battery if accessible before working underneath. Keep hands away from blades.
Steps to check:
- Verify mower position: Place the Worx Landroid on a flat, level area inside the boundary wire. Make sure it is not resting on a bump, curb, or obstacle that could tilt it.
- Clean lift sensor area: On most Worx robot mowers, the lift sensor is integrated into the chassis near the front or rear axle. Gently flip the mower on its side (blades away from you), brush away grass, mud, and debris from the underside and wheel wells. Do not spray high‑pressure water.
- Check for stuck housing: Ensure the top cover and chassis are fully seated and not warped or bent. A misaligned housing can keep the lift sensor slightly engaged.
- Inspect wiring: With the mower powered OFF, remove the top cover (usually several Torx screws). Locate the lift sensor connector on the main PCB and ensure it is fully seated and free of corrosion.
- Reset and test: Reassemble, turn the main switch ON, place the mower on level ground, and start a manual mow cycle. If E1 persists, the lift sensor module may be defective.
When to call a technician: If the error remains after cleaning and reseating connectors, the lift sensor or main board likely needs replacement and calibration, which is best done by an authorized Worx service center.
