Possible Causes

Charging base not level, Boundary wire under or around base incorrectly installed, Charging contacts dirty or bent, Docking sensor misaligned

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the mower before adjusting the charging base. Disconnect the power supply from mains when working on the base.

Steps to check:

  • Level the base: Ensure the Worx charging station is on a flat, firm surface. Use a spirit level if available. Avoid placing the base on slopes or soft soil that can sink.
  • Check boundary wire routing: Confirm the boundary wire enters and exits the base exactly as shown in the Worx installation guide, with straight runs and correct distances. Avoid loops or crossings under the base.
  • Clean charging contacts: Wipe the mower's charging contacts and the base's contact plates with a dry cloth. Remove corrosion with a fine abrasive pad if necessary.
  • Inspect contact springs: Check that the spring‑loaded contacts on the mower move freely and are not stuck or bent.
  • Re‑dock test: Reconnect power, place the mower about 1–2 m in front of the base, and start a Home/Dock command. Watch its approach and adjust the base position if it consistently misses or rides up.

When to call a technician: If E3 persists with a correctly installed base and clean contacts, the docking sensor or main PCB may be faulty and require professional replacement.
