Possible Causes
Object blocking LiDAR turret rotation, Dust on LiDAR window, Stuck LiDAR motor, Faulty LiDAR (LDS) module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the robot before touching the LiDAR turret.
- Inspect the LiDAR turret: On top of the robot, locate the round turret. Check that nothing is resting on it or wedged against it (furniture, cables, etc.).
- Clean the LiDAR window: Use a soft microfiber cloth to gently wipe the transparent ring or window around the turret. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Check rotation: With the robot off, gently try to rotate the turret. It should move smoothly with slight resistance. Do not force it if it feels stuck.
- Power-on test: Turn the robot on and start a cleaning cycle while watching the turret. It should spin continuously. If it twitches or does not move, the motor may be jammed or failed.
- Advanced repair: Remove the top cover to access the LDS module. Check the connector to the main board and inspect for dust buildup inside the turret.
- Replacement: If the LDS motor is seized or the sensor board is faulty, replace the entire LiDAR (LDS) sensor module with a Dreame-compatible part.
