Possible Causes
Dust on LDS window, LDS turret jammed by debris, Faulty LDS motor, LDS sensor board failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and keep fingers away from the rotating LiDAR turret.
Step-by-step:
- Clean the LDS window: On top of mapping models, locate the round LiDAR turret. Gently wipe the transparent window with a microfiber cloth to remove dust and smudges.
- Check turret rotation: Gently try to rotate the turret a few degrees. It should move smoothly without grinding. Do not force it.
- Remove obstructions: Inspect around the turret for lodged debris (pet hair, small objects) that could block rotation. Remove carefully.
- Reboot and test: Power ON the robot and start a mapping or cleaning run. Listen for the soft whir of the LDS motor and watch for turret rotation.
- Advanced repair: If the turret does not spin or E13 persists, open the robot to access the LDS module. Check the motor and sensor connectors. If the motor is seized or the sensor board is burnt, replace the complete LDS assembly.
When to stop: LDS replacement is delicate; if unsure, seek professional service.
