Possible Causes

Dust on front IR sensors, Smudged front camera lens (on camera‑based models), Sticker or tape covering sensor window, Faulty front sensor PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the robot.

  • Locate front sensors: Identify the dark plastic windows or camera lens on the front of the Hoover robot.
  • Clean sensor surfaces: Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the IR windows and camera lens. Do not use harsh chemicals.
  • Remove obstructions: Ensure no decorative stickers, tape, or protective films are covering the sensor areas.
  • Test navigation: Power ON and start a cleaning cycle. Observe if the robot now detects walls and obstacles correctly.
  • If E18 continues: The front sensor PCB or camera module may be defective. Replacement of the front obstacle sensor board or camera should be done by a service technician.
