Possible Causes
Dirty LDS or camera lens, Reflective or dark flooring confusing sensors, IMU miscalibration, Obstructed sensor turret
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot before cleaning sensors.
- Clean mapping sensors: For LDS models, clean the laser turret window. For camera‑based models, clean the top camera lens.
- Reduce reflections: Avoid highly reflective surfaces near the dock and in key navigation areas, or use rugs to break up reflections.
- Remap: Delete the existing map in the Hoover app and perform a full cleaning run to create a new map.
- Flat surface calibration: If available, run sensor calibration with the robot on a level floor.
- If maps remain distorted: The LDS module, camera, or IMU may be faulty and require professional replacement.
