Possible Causes
Internal IMU calibration lost, IMU connector loose, IMU chip failure on main board, Strong magnetic interference near dock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot before performing resets or opening the housing.
- 1. Power cycle: Turn the robot OFF, wait 60 seconds, then turn it ON again to allow the IMU to reinitialize.
- 2. Flat surface calibration: Place the robot on a perfectly flat, level surface and perform any IMU or mapping reset procedure described in the user manual or app.
- 3. Move away from interference: Ensure the dock and robot are not placed near large speakers, subwoofers, or strong magnets that can affect sensors.
- 4. Firmware update: Use the iHome app to check for and install any firmware updates that may address IMU issues.
- 5. Internal check (advanced): Open the robot and verify that the IMU module (often a small board or chip on the main PCB) is securely soldered or connected. Check for signs of liquid damage.
- 6. Replace main board: If E13 persists and calibration fails, the main control board containing the IMU typically must be replaced.
