Possible Causes
Drive wheels slipping on surface, Internal motion sensor error, Wheel encoder failure, Excessive debris in wheel housings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock.
- 1. Inspect the environment: Ensure the robot is not on thick rugs, dark glossy floors, or near thresholds that could cause traction issues.
- 2. Clean wheels and tires: Turn the robot over and wipe the drive wheels and caster wheel with a damp cloth to remove dust and residue. Dry thoroughly.
- 3. Check wheel movement: Manually rotate each drive wheel and press them up and down to ensure free movement and proper suspension.
- 4. Remove debris: Clear any hair or fibers wrapped around the drive wheel axles and caster wheel.
- 5. Reset and test: Power ON the robot and test on a different, light-colored hard floor to rule out surface issues.
- 6. Inspect encoders (advanced): If the error persists, open the bottom cover and inspect the drive wheel encoder discs and sensors for contamination or damage. Clean gently with compressed air.
- 7. Replace wheel module or main board: If encoders are damaged or the robot still misdetects motion, replace the affected drive wheel module. If both wheels are fine, the main control board may be faulty and should be replaced by a technician.
