Possible Causes

Dirty cliff or wall sensors, Gyroscope calibration drift, One wheel slower due to partial jam, Reflective or very dark flooring confusing sensors

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and place it upside down on a soft surface.

Step-by-step:

  • Clean all sensors: Wipe cliff sensors, wall sensors, and front IR windows with a microfiber cloth.
  • Check wheel movement: Spin both wheels by hand and clear any debris. Ensure they move with similar resistance.
  • Reset on level floor: Place the robot on a flat, light-colored floor. Turn it OFF and ON, then start a cleaning cycle without moving it.
  • Test in different room: Try a room with matte, medium‑tone flooring to rule out surface issues.

If erratic navigation continues, the gyro/IMU or wheel encoders may be faulty and require professional service.
