Possible Causes
Wheel encoders not reading movement, Gyroscope misreporting motion, Debris in wheel encoder slots, Mainboard motion logic fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF the robot before inspecting wheels.
- Step 1 – Clean wheels and axles: Remove hair and debris from both drive wheels and caster wheel. Ensure they spin freely.
- Step 2 – Check encoder discs: If accessible, inspect the slotted encoder discs on the wheel motors for dust or damage. Clean gently with compressed air.
- Step 3 – Test movement: Power ON the robot and run it on a smooth, light-colored floor. Observe if it moves normally before reporting E18.
- Step 4 – Reset sensors: Perform a factory reset or sensor calibration via the app if available.
- Repair: Persistent false stuck detection usually indicates faulty wheel encoders or mainboard logic, requiring replacement of the wheel module or mainboard.
