Possible Causes
LIDAR turret blocked or stuck, Dust on LIDAR window, LIDAR motor failure, LIDAR communication failure with mainboard
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not stare directly into any laser aperture. Turn OFF the robot before cleaning.
- Step 1 – Check LIDAR turret: On LDS-equipped Lefant models, gently try to rotate the LIDAR turret by hand. It should spin freely without scraping.
- Step 2 – Clean LIDAR window: Wipe the transparent LIDAR cover with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust.
- Step 3 – Remove obstructions: Ensure no decorative covers or aftermarket accessories are blocking the LIDAR.
- Step 4 – Power-on test: Turn the robot ON and listen for the LIDAR spinning. A faint whirring sound should be present. If silent or grinding, the LIDAR motor may be faulty.
- Repair: Replace the LIDAR module if it does not spin or fails to communicate with the mainboard.
