Possible Causes
Obstructed dock IR transmitter, Dock placed in a tight corner, Failed dock IR LED, Faulty dock detection sensor on robot
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep the area around the dock clear to prevent the robot from getting stuck.
- 1. Reposition the dock: Place the dock against a straight wall with at least 1 m (3 ft) of clear space on each side and 2 m (6 ft) in front. Avoid corners, under furniture, or near stairs.
- 2. Clean dock and robot IR windows: Wipe the small dark plastic windows on the front of the dock and the front/top of the robot with a soft cloth.
- 3. Remove obstacles: Clear objects that may block the line of sight between the robot and dock, such as trash cans, curtains, or low furniture.
- 4. Test manual docking: Place the robot about 1–2 m (3–6 ft) directly in front of the dock and press the Home/Recharge button. Observe whether it approaches and aligns correctly.
- If the robot consistently fails to detect the dock even at close range, the dock's IR transmitter or the robot's dock receiver sensor may be faulty and require replacement.
