Possible Causes
Side brush tangled with hair or cords, Side brush hub cracked and rubbing on chassis, Side brush motor shaft bent, Side brush motor wiring loose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Power OFF the robot using the main switch and remove it from the dock.
- Step 1 – Inspect side brushes: Turn the robot upside down. Locate the side brush(es) near the edge. Check for hair, strings, or wires wrapped around the base.
- Step 2 – Remove side brush: Use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw in the center of the side brush. Lift the brush off the motor shaft.
- Step 3 – Clean the hub and shaft: Remove all hair and debris from the brush hub and around the motor shaft. Ensure the shaft can spin freely.
- Step 4 – Check for damage: Inspect the side brush arms for warping or cracks that could cause rubbing against the bottom cover. Replace the brush if deformed.
- Step 5 – Reinstall or replace: Refit the cleaned or new side brush, tighten the screw snugly but do not overtighten.
- Step 6 – Test: Turn the robot ON and start a spot clean. Watch the side brush; it should spin smoothly without stopping. If E2 returns, the side brush motor or its wiring harness may be defective and should be replaced.
